I KNOW. I'm naughty. I've been ignoring you all. In my defence, it is pretty hard to update a blog when you spend 5 days a week without wifi. Can you imagine? No wifi. But my sentence is nearly up, and I'm being let out for good behaviour, and all those other prison metaphors, because I am BACK, baby. Back in Edinburgh, back on the blog, back to a normal life. [For four weeks].
So, what's been happening? My trip to Palma was indeed as boozy and food-filled as I was hoping - in terms of gin tolerance, I got absolutely schooled by my dear madre, although I did have to top up my tan a little with some sun in a bottle once I got back.
That's pretty much an entire glass of gin I'm holding.
On the life front, everything's going pretty well - I'm no longer entirely hating running, I have at least attempted to ride my bike, aaaand I'm dating again! I do love dating. I've been traipsing round chapels, romping through fields, mixing up mojitos and drinking coffee by the gallon. AND I've even got some cupcake orders, so my plan to use baking as currency is slowly but surely coming to fruition.
And I turned 23! Very old indeed, although subconsciously apparently not old enough, as I thought I was 24 for a good 3 hours the other week [and promptly had a quarter-life crisis]. And now, to the music:
The Ultimate Bearhug - Foolish ThingsCaracol - Shiver
Fibes, Oh Fibes! - Apex of the Sun
Gossling - Wild Love
Sarah Jaffe - Glorified High
All pretty upbeat summery tunes. Give them a listen (all the way through), then right click + download.

Thank you for the music! I just stumbled across your blog and everything looks really fantastic. I'm loving 'Foolish Things' right now :)
ReplyDeleteIt's in Mobberly, in Cheshire. Isn't it fantastic? Reminds me of Grandmother Willow. Apparently there's a couple more faces dotted about, and an owl carving too.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back! I'm glad you had a good time on vaccation. The tree is very cool looking and reminds me of green man drawings I've seen. When my aunt was visiting my cousin in Mississippi she showed me how the people down there carved trees ruined by the hurricane into animals. It was great to see how they'd taken them and made them into something beautiful again.
