Thanks for the gorgonzola

What a lovely birthday message from my flatmate. This past week has been craaaaazy busy [when isn't it?] what with my brother's barmitzvah [cue dancing with 50 year olds at 4am in a whiskey haze] and then my own 22nd birthday party [cue cooking from 9am til 8pm, passing out at 11pm. Age is catching up with me] so it feels amazing to be chilling out at the weekend. Relatively speaking.

Amongst all this busy-ness has been little old [or should I say new?] brunette me. I keep catching glimpses of myself in mirrors and double-taking, but I am fully embracing this new, older-looking me. For the next two months at least.

  1. The typewriter photo is so good. A simple idea can speak volumes from the right perspective. Love this entry.

  3. I have no idea how I stumbled onto your blog two weeks ago but I love the photography and music.

And the sarcasm isn't bad either.

  4. Did you color just the top part of your hair?? I really like how it turned out and am trying to see how you did it... I am a natural brunette, but have always wanted to experiment with a bit of blonde or red...

  5. Thank you!

Casey - I got it professionally done [I was debating doing it myself, but I was too scared!] and she put about 3 different colours on it. It'll probably be easier for you, going from dark to light, just depends whether you want a subtle fade out or something more obvious. Try TheBeautyDepartment.com for some really good tips. Hope it works out well!

  6. Dancing with 50 year olds, hello!! OUCH! Youth is truly wasted on the young. FYI - Fifty is the new thirty five. In the blink of an eye you will be 35 and after a heavy night, will feel what you think 50 must feel like - kind of sore and slowed down for a while. We remain about 28 in our heads (at our peak?) as we get older - despite our bodies hurting a bit after dancing our asses off at barmitzvahs alongside young uns like you. LOL Just you wait - you will see. Even at 50 and beyond you and your pals will be even more amazing to your eyes than you are now. It is not over the hill, it is over the worst.

  7. Love these photos as usual! And what a sweet note - happy birthday! Sounds like fun at the Bat Mitzvah - can't believe I am saying that as they are usually quite boring!

    Happy birthday again!
